Takashi joined us at KIPB in 2006. He previously earned his degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Tohoku University – the highest-ranked university in Japan according to The London Times 2021 Rankings.
After graduation, Takashi gained valuable experience producing scientific analysis for various national research institutes and industry related enterprises including the R&D center at Mitsubishi Steel and at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Takashi has been an active member of a number of metallography societies and has produced a number of studies and publications for these bodies including improvements to injection molding stainless Steel and measurements of elastic modulus using laser speckle interferometry.
His technical expertise is in metallurgy and material engineering, particularly magnetic materials, powder metallurgy, composite materials and automobile transmission.
His workload at KIPB is immense, averaging 120 responses to office actions a year with an ability to overturn decisions and bring cases into grant position in the majority of instances.
A major history buff, Takashi enjoys discussing any of the momentous events over the last 200 years. He is also a heavy rock aficionado and dreams of driving around the historical spots of Europe one day.
