KIPB at INTA 23 in Singapore

We were delighted to attend the INTA 23 conference in Singapore, held from May 16-20, 2023. We had the pleasure of meeting with many of our long-time friends and colleagues and the opportunity to make new connections with trademark and IP professionals from around the world.
We want to thank everyone we met and the insights they provided (and the shared anecdotes they reminded us of from previous conferences!)
We would also like to thank the organizers of INTA 23 for putting on such a great event. Masahito and I had a wonderful time in Singapore, and we look forward to attending INTA 24 in 2024 in Atlanta.

The JPO no longer allows multi-multi claims in applications with filing dates on/after April 1, 2022. It's been a year since the rule came in, and we are starting to see applications that still contain these impermissible claims….
The Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) will hold their Annual Meeting in Singapore, from Nov. 3-7, 2023. KIPB will be represented on-site by Goichi Takahashi, Yoshiaki Kishizawa and Steve Denney.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) recently published the 2023 edition of the PCT Yearly Review, which provides statistical data on trends in PCT applications, national phase entries and the health of the international patent system.
The JPO has relaxed measures for recovering IP applications that have missed certain procedural deadlines, Applicable procedures include Paris Priority, PCT Entry, Examination, translations & renewals, etc.
